Barack Obama Is Not Playing This Summer Hit

Why did Obama do this?

Barack Obama Summer Playlist 2024

Barack Obama is trendy and a betrayer — musically speaking, that is.

Last week, the former president kept his annual tradition of releasing a summer playlist via his official Instagram Page.

More than ever, music lovers were eager to discover who made the highly coveted list.

Barack Obama snubs Kendrick Lamar

They were especially rushing to find out how Obama handled the biggest feud in music history, since Tupac Shakur went against The Notorious B.I.G.
.
The world has been glued to one feud for the past few months: Kendrick Lamar versus Drake.

It was a tense back-and-forth that gave birth to several monster hit songs, including “They Not Like Us,” “Meet the Grahams,” “Euphoria,” and “Family Matters.”

The drama between the West Coast rapper and the Canadian entertainer had everyone picking sides and boldly declaring it.

Kendrick’s song “They Not Like Us” has been one of the most significant music video drops on YouTube for 2024 and became the official anthem for the summer.

It was played at parties, cookouts, bar mitzvahs, and even weddings.

However for some bizarre reason, Obama is pretending like he never heard the track and left it out his playlist.

Obama: a Kendrick fan?

A CNN reporter revealed that Obama simply does not want to get in trouble and joked that he is being a musical coward by not choosing a side when the winner is clearly defined.

The politician who was bolder musically speaking did, however, pick a side a few years ago. In a 2016 interview, he said this about Drake: “You got to go with Kendrick, I’m just saying. I think Drake is an outstanding Entertainer, but Kendrick’s lyrics on his last album were outstanding, excellent, all right, best uh best album of last year.”

Obma’s playlist revealed that he is following the trend and is having a “brat summer.”

He picked Charli XCX‘s “365,” the hit single from her Brat album.

Obama went country with Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” Billie Eilish‘s “Chihiro” and “Symptom of Life” by Willow, along with “Texas Hold’ Em” by Beyoncé are on the list.

Obama also brought back classics like “How Do U Want It” by 2Pac ft. K-Ci & JoJo and “Come Away with Me” by Norah Jones.
