Entertainment Weekly reported that Timbaland is trying to get Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake together on the same track.
This could be a good idea but one can only doubt that the result will save the world.
Britney Spears will have a big career comeback if Timbaland has anything to do with it. The producer told Entertainment Weekly that he’d like to work with Spears on new music — and his frequent collaborator (and Britney’s ex) Justin Timberlake may be onboard as well. “I’m the type of person who tries to save the world,” Timbaland said. “I just want to take her away, go overseas and work [it] out. … I asked Justin, ‘How would you feel about me working with Britney?’ … ‘Would you do it with me?’ ” Timbaland told the magazine that JT was willing to get involved. “She’s just gotta be serious.”

“Dreamgirls” takes No. 1 in Lousy sales week
“Dreamgirls” registers the lowest sales total for a No. 1 album since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data in 1991, relates Billboard.com
In a slow week for both sales and new releases, the Sony soundtrack to the Beyonce-starring “Dreamgirls” ascends 3-1 to claim the summit. The set sold 66,000 copies in the United States according to Nielsen SoundScan, despite a sales decrease of 36%.

BEYONCÉ TOPS HOT 100 SINGLES CHART FOR SIXTH CONSECUTIVE WEEK
Beyoncé’s “Irreplaceable” continues its run atop the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, where it maintains the top spot for a sixth consecutive week.
The track also tops the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart for a seventh straight week, and returns to the No. 1 position on the Pop 100 for a fourth, non-consecutive week. The track is also the week’s greatest airplay gainer on the Hot 100.

Christina Aguilera Sings at Billionaire 84th Birthday Bash
Some say Christina Aguilera’s rare mix of old-school talent and new-school sensuality makes her appealing to fans ages 8 to 80. Last weekend, the Grammy-winning chart-topper put that theory to the test.
Aguilera was one of several high-profile celebrities who surprised more than 500 guests with an appearance at the 84th birthday celebration for millionaire lumber magnate Joe Hardy in southwestern Pennsylvania. Joining Robin Williams, Bette Midler and the Broadway cast of “A Chorus Line,” Aguilera finished off the 12-hour party in style with a performance of “Beautiful” and what could be her next single — the new classic “Happy Birthday, Mr. Hardy.”
