I am a survivor of a rare and aggressive form of cervical cancer called Small Cell or SCCC. I did not have HPV. My prognosis was very poor. Little is known about this disease because few get it and even fewer survive it beyond 2 years, cancer free. I am 2 years from diagnosis, cancer free and told a pretty clear miracle. I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for the research and advancement that has been made to find a cure for cancer so far. Much more needs to be done. It also takes strength and soul which I believe helped me through it all. You see, I come from a long line of strong women who have battled one form of female cancer or another. Some survived and are doing well…others were not so lucky, but still fought with all their heart. It has inspired me. This song will do the same for a whole new generation of women that will be diagnosed with cancer. Keep up the fight!

Omg.i love this song i saw it on the new and had to pay attention to it after i heard the word’cancer’ my grandmother and i were very close.when i was only in second grade we foud out she had a cancer unknown. it started from her thighs and stayed there for about 3 months.they had to cut off her thighs.she was still diagnosed with the cancer and the doctors couldnt stop it from spreading throughout her body.towards her lungs.she passed.as i listen to this song i cant help but to feel tears sting the back of my eyes.it has been over 3 years and i still remember her funeral.i just ’stand up to cancer’ came out sooner to at least let my grandmother live another day so my family could say goodbye with love.Faith is in my heart for all those with cancer.

This song is so beautiful and inspiring, I really hope all with cancer survive because it is such a terible disease and no one deserves to go through it especially the children who are very commonly being born with it havent even had a chance to grow up and see the beauty of life, and what beautiful people Im sure they will become. I really appreciate this song that has been sang by such beautiful singers who have grwon to become great role models. I love this song and i will be listening to it forvever and ever. God Bless all the people strugling with this disease and God bless the survivors that have gone through it. Im sorry for everyone out there who has lost someone through this disease and hopefully they wont go through it, and god bless my family and friends. I know someone who is going through qa tough time with her cancer yesterday she on the verge of killing herself. but as i played this song for her she decided that there is enough good people in the world. And she said to me that if the cancer was goingf to kill her why not let it be the cancer not her. The song was for the cure cancer campaign. The song is just an inspiration, up lifting, soul shaker, and every GOOD or POSITIVE way I could ever think of. I have a lot of family members that I’ve lost because of cancer. Just a few months later we found out that my grandfather is diagnosed with lung cancer. This song has brought HOPE to me with taking good care of him the BEST way I can, and in every way I can while there’s time. My grandfather is everything to me, he means the whole world to me. The song is meaningful in every way you could ever think of like cancer, life, spiritual, mind and soul. All I can say is GOD is a GOD of MIRACLES and I’ve seen it in my family and places. My grandma was diagnosed with cancer in September of 1987. She was in her mid fiftes and she had broken her hip and the beach oddly and was due for a check up. the doctors got her up on all of her tests including her lady ones. they took a mammogram and all was fine. supposibly. since my mom was always caring for my grandmother she changed her too. she realized that her breasts her very aggitated and sore and they looked very bruised and sucken in. this as you probably know not normal. my mom again took her too the doctor and nothing showed up. the type of breast cancer my grandma had is very hard to detect on a mammogram screen because it is hardly visible. my grandma went through various chemotherapy but they never really found out what she had because there wasnt advanced technology back then….. my grandma passed away January 29th, 1989 at 12:35 am. She was 55 when she died. she barely lived her life.
a year ago my mom recieved an email from my cousin, it described a very rare cancer it shows up in 1 in every 1,000 person or so. my mom saw the pictures and discovered that this is what my grandmother had. she was relieved to find out what she had. inflammatory breast cancer…… many of you mostly all of you may never have heard it because it is SO rare and barely any of it’s victims survive.
I never met my grandma but I was told she was an amazing woman.

I love This song and most of the time I hear it, I tear up. An immediate friend of the family, Lucy, Found out she had cervical cancer about 4 months ago. It’s sad because her own children don’t even speak to her or visit as normal kids do their healthy parents! We are more of a family and strong support system to her than her own. When I hear this song I can only think of her and how my Dad’s mom died from a tumor in her neck. I can only think about the hundreds of thousands of people living with cancer. Also how there are people with HIV/AID and diseases. IT IS NOT OVER, believe in yourself and NEVER should you give up! I pray for the young children who are born with these cancers, I commend the survivors of the terrifying deficiencies and honor those who have lost their battle. There is a plan for everyone, don’t ever throw the towel in. and to those still blessed with you health, TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. JUST BECAUSE IT HASN’T YET HAPPENED, DOESN’T MEAN IT WON’T!! C’mon guys.. yes the song is great. I mean super great. Big stars are there, Mariah, Beyonce.. etc. It’s not about who sang the longest lines.. or who didn’t. This song is awesome! It is a great cancer supporter! My grandfather had to have his ear removed because of melanoma skin cancer. I am happy the stars all are standing up for it. Man when I first heard this song!I wanted to cry but I didnt want anyone to see me break down! I dont know anyone from my family who has suffered from cancer but I knew this young innocent girl who was about 8years of age, passed away because of this sickness. This song reminds me so much of her and it reminds me of how lucky I am that no one from my family suffers of this sickness. I have alot to be thankful for. Just seeing my idols singing this song to support civical cancer just makes me so proud and that we can do so much more to help find a cure.So R.I.P Kathleen McDonald.!

The first time I heard this, I didn’t know it was about cancer, but I was sure it had an important message. This song reminds me of Band Aid – Do They Know It’s Christmas? I mean, I know it was the 80’s, but the sentiment is the same. All of these extremely famous artists using their fame to draw attention to issues and give hope to people going through terrible situations. It’s incredibly inspiring.

My grandmother went through Breast Cancer… and this song just hits my heart like a ton of bricks and hits it so hard, I end up crying for her. I went away, to the mainland with her for all her check-ups (we live on a populated island off the coast of Maine with a small town on it) and she just did nothing but breakdown. I was the “head” in the situation and let her cry it up. Because I knew she had nowhere to go but up. She just had to be strong about it and know that there’s a way out. And I guess I reminded her to, every time we went away for the check-ups. I gotta let her know about this song and show her the lyrics when I go to her house sometime. She’s a Breast Cancer Survivor. And ya don’t have to go on the TV Show “Survivor” to be one.

I never really liked Miley Cyrus, but I think she did a good job with this song. The other stars just rocked it all the way, too. I wouldn’t make any changes to this song, it’s perfect just the way it is. And cancer is such a big issue, even though no one takes it that seriously anymore. I don’t know anyone personally who passed away because of cancer, but I’m extremely sorry for all of you who have had loved ones pass away.

my grandmother is currently fighting through cancer, and this song really touched me. the words are incredibly, and made me realize how special life is, and how i must stand by my grandmother always. i will never loose hope, she will make it through the hard times. i can sympathize for anyone who has lost someone to cancer, or with anyone close to them fighting it. but together, with the help of amazing people who sing songs like these, we can fight this horrible disease.
