Dick Clark Productions Adam Lambert:AMA Performance
Dick Clark Productions Adam Lambert:AMA Performance – Dick Clark Productions Adam Lambert rant can be found here.ABC and Dick Clark Productions have decided to censor/edit Adam Lambert’s AMAs performance and the singer is not happy about it.Adam said:
“If it’s edited, that’s discrimination.I will be a little disappointed because there is a little bit of discrimination going in this country. There’s a big double standard, female pop artists have been doing things provocative like that for years, and the fact that I’m a male, and I’ll be edited and discriminated against could be a problem.Shock is fun, shock rock is like something that existed, for example, like in the 70′s, Alice Cooper…David Bowie, you had artists that liked to push the envelope and that’s what made them so fresh.Prince for example, wore a**less chaps one year…I think that surprise is part of entertainment. I think that it keeps people watching its fun, it makes you laugh and it should be that way. And if it made you uncomfortable, maybe I’m not for you.”
Gay rights publication The Advocate said a statement :
“In his first major television performance outside ‘American Idol,’ Adam Lambert delivered the sexually charged number we expected from him last night on the AMAs. It was reminiscent of other envelope-pushing performances by provocative artists like Madonna and Janet Jackson. It’s unfortunate that ABC and Dick Clark Productions censored the performance for west coast audiences highlighting the double standard that still exists for gay entertainers.”

That’s all we have for now on Dick Clark Productions Adam Lambert.

I thoroughly enjoyed most of Adam Lambert’s performances on American Idol because of his voice and talent.
Adam is either being misguided or feels he is entitled for the American public to accept his gay S&M erotica performance. This is a letdown to the fans who supported him during his idol journey.
He has a wonderful talent and could go far but he is destroying his career and burning bridges. He is no David Bowie, Queen or any other previous recording artist.
No one is discriminating his pergformance. It was not good. It was unacceptable, unenjoyable and offensive. No one liked Madonna when she kissed Britney!
The fans vote on the AMA’s and it is not the forum to shock and offend those who have supported your career – especially young children and teens.
If Adam wants to flaunt his sexual preference and the erotica he enjoys – do it some where else than on national television.

It’s not about editing – It’s about having a no talent ( very bad dancer/ performer) who goes to cheap actions to try and stop people from seeing how bad he sings. Dick Clark -ABC should be ashamed of themselves not for editing but for having a no talent close the show. Also the animal rights people will be upset because he kept trying to kill that cat during his act… what?,..Oh sorry, that wailing was his singing , my bad, at least his career is dead not the cat

THAT PERFORMANCE BELONGS ON LATE NIGHT CABLE, NOT PRIME TIME WHEN FAMILIES ARE TOGETHER TO WATCH MUSIC AWARDS. SOMEONE IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY PLEASE STAND UP FOR DECENCY IF YOU DARE. i WON’T BE HOLDING MY BREATH,JUST DVR’ING PROGRAMS AND DELETING THE GARBAGE THAT WAS ON THE AMA’S.

This performance does not belong anywhere. I can understand him wanting to be accepted as who he is but that does not give him a right to bring filth into every house hold.
The sad part is that Adam and others that want to prove themselves think they need to do it with vulgarity and they do not realize the damage that they are doing. After they grow up and see it it will be too late. The damage will already be done.

I think it stinks that Dick Clark Productions has banned it’s own video of this. Censorship on the internet…this has got to be a joke! I really don’t get the double standard! It’s ok for Madonna to kiss Britney and not ok for Adam to kiss a guy. Personally, I don’t want to see either one, that’s my choice, that’s what they make remotes for…turn it if you don’t like it.

Him kissing the man, that’s one thing, simulating oral sex, tis QUITE another. And just because Brittany, Madonna and others pulled s (s that I didn’t care for either) it should be copied and extended upon? I think not!! If Adam want’s wishes to do such, then he should put it on private, adult DVD’s or Blue Rays.

My family and I were huge absolutely huge fans of Adam’s but we were all extremely disappointed in his actions at the AMA’s. This is NOT about the kiss with his band member as far as our family is concerned it was the below the belt actions that took place we found totally disgusting. I know Adam feels that it was the last performance of the night & in his mind kids shouldn’t be up but the facts are is that many, many parents let their children stay up for specifically these kinds of award shows because the one thing that parents & children have in common many times is music. So of course actually a majority of families together with the children watch these types of shows. It just wasn’t the time or most certainly not the place to make a “statement”. Late night tv like Letterman I can understand but not these types of shows like award shows. Besides why was it so important to make that kind of statement? Really was it necessary? We all know Adam is gay & accept it because he is extremely talented & yes his onstage performance is also what makes his fans love him but this kind of imitating the sexual act below the waist was just going way too far over the top. I think GMA & Dick Clark productions made the right decision in cancelling Adam’s performance because just maybe he would get carried away then too. I also disagree with Adam and because of the time and place he does owe an apology, not for the kiss but for the below the belt actions. Hopefully Adam one day will understand why it was wrong and until he apologizes and admits it was wrong we will not be watching him or buying his albums. If an artist cannot admit his mistakes then we have to question his character. So until Adam realizes there is a time and place & sees it was a mistake this family will not be buying any of his albums.

I don’t care if it’s Madonna and Spears or anyone, this type of material shouldn’t be allowed on television at times when adolescents are watching. People who know who he is, know he’s gay, and that’s his choice. I don’t care if everyone in the world knows he’s gay, but he needs to keep the kissing and fellatio where it belongs, in the bedroom.

this should not be accepted on a national show. i understand if hes gay but he can go do that somewhere else. i cant imagine the effect this is taking on our youth. im young and i think its disqusting how ,a so called, man is allowed to rub someones face all over “himself” its not acceptable on any tv show. thats somthing he can do at home, not on stage. especially the kissing, pole dancing and leashes.
1.you dont need to shove your tounge down someone elses throat on stage, its nasty
2. go to a stip club if you wanna see someone pole dance
3. leashes?! for all the dumbies who dont get what a leash is, its somthing to walk your dog on!!! not pull a human being on “for your entertainment”! ok well im pretty mad. im just worried about our youth and generations. dont get me wronge gay,bi, and lesbian people are cool. they just dont need to show it in a straight enviroment. worlds already screwed up enough. thank you for reading this, my opinion.

This song reminds me of John Kimura. John’s legacy is his `Dancer Policy’ when he became the first Japanese homosexual to dance cross the border to Idaho and meet “Gay” Bob Calhoun. There were critics to his plans then and there will be critics now but as John said “The only way the two men can become one together is by being a dancer and not human. Are we human or are we dancer, men who love other men as a dancer should.”

This years American Music Awards was a disappointment. Adams performance was not the only sexual one but was the worsted. Everyone is commenting on the kiss. That was discussing but the hand placements and suggested oral sex was horrible. I can’t believe the producers of the American Music Awards would agree to this X-rated programming.
Your fan base is made up of mostly Teenagers why would you want these Young Adults to view this filth.
This will be the last AMA for this household and wish others would follow. This not acceptable and should not be view by anyone but especially Young Adults
Dick Clark you have always been a Icon for Young Adults everywhere. Why would you think this was okay. Where is your moral compass. I’m an adult and I am having a hard time erasing this filth from my head. Think what it is doing to these young minds.
Don’t give me the excuse you edited this preformance if you did it was not enough. I wish I could remember all the AMA sponsor I would write each of them and let them know this is not somthing they should support.

Anybody Christian here? If you were then you wouldn’t accept gays, bis, or lesbians. Ever heard of Adam and Eve? That is the way it is meant to be. Gays, bis, and lesbians are attention cravers and this is a great example of that. Also, what he said about how parents should watch the show and record it before their kids watch it is stupid. No parents should have to do that for a tv station like ABC or any other tv station for that matter.

I didnt watch the show but saw some pictures of the proformance and i must say that was stepping over the line for a national tv station where families tune into. Iv read all the responses in this and if the majority feel it was out of bound and offensive then Dick Clark needs to step up and say sorry for allowing this kind of so called entertainment to be on the air. But we all know that the only thing that talks is money and if yall really want to get your point across boy coting is the only way and get a list of the sponsors and tell them how u feel. Money is the root to all actions with the entertainment world. Hell look at what happens when someone slips up and says something un-PC they lose their sponsership. ok thats just my opinion as well take it as you will.

One more thing, i dont think this so called STAR should say sorry he has no respect for his fans so dont expect anything from him. I think if he loved and adored his fans …the very ones that pay him then he would never have done what he did. I feel that if someone is that talented as iv read over and over in these blogs, then he would never had to do what he did. I feel when someone has to go over the line like that he is covering his LACK of TALENT!!!

Being a teenager and around kids who joke around about this stuff and kids who are gay, and being able to accept it, this was really wrong. Like other posters have said, kissing is one thing but hinting oral sex…..kindaa rediculous….. i dont think that should be showed on air at all. sure madonna and brit kissed each other, but they didnt start touching each other on stage now did they? its ok to be gay or bi, and im sure adams fans would have accepted that bc of his talent, but now he’s just lost a bunch of fans, and disgusted soo many people its not even funny. Not to mention. he SHOULD be apologizing and hes stupid for thinking he shouldnt

Interesting comments like – it’s ok he’s gay and I understand he is gay. Those statements really expose some negative bias against homosexuality. His being gay isn’t the issue here at all. The performance was insulting and vulgar, and crosses the line of civil behavior, which society is in such desparate need of, and it would have been so in a heterosexual context as well. Folks viewing the AMA that evening did not bargain for pornography. American’s sickening addiction to sexual perversion is de-humanizing to all.

Being “Gay” is not the issue. The issue was the simulated oral sex, which was inappropriate for a national television show such as the American Music Awards, where sales of music is geared towards young kids & younger kids watch these shows. It crossed the line as being pornographic. Young kids don’t need to see that stuff on TV. Adam Lambert’s chose to add this to his performance, it was not rehearsed & ABC had no warnings that he was going to go this far. Who cares that he is gay, nobody. There are plenty of gay artists and also heterosexual artists who know what boundaries not to cross on national tv. I didn’t expect to see pornography, nor did my kids. There needs to be some sort of expectation or warning on what to expect when you watch a program. I did not expect to see simulated oral sex on a music award show. It was so tasteless & vulgar. The final straw was when he ended with displaying his middle finger to the audience.
Fortunately, Dick Clark Productions were able to scour the internet to remove his performance off of YouTube, BUT they could not remove the program off of people’s DVRs. Many parents taped this show so that their kids could watch it. They didn’t necessarily watch the show or monitor it when their kids could view it.
Lambert likes to shock people & he claimed he didn’t want to be an advocate for gays, because it’s about the music. Now he is pulling out his “gay” card & crying discrimmination & fans are outraged that he was censored for the West Coast or that some people are outraged by this. He has no regard for his fans who supported him & no regard for common decency with that performance. I can’t believe that people think this guy has talent. He’s disgusting.

i have always been a big fan of adam lambert since the auditions on americal idol. when i first heard him sing he was my first pick. then i only knew him as the cool guy in black with the chain! and i still think he should have won but thats another story… i have yet been able to see the footage of the ama awards
and dont think i ever will being its been removed probibly by the request of the people but i am sadened by what its brought every one. even in his own words he states hes a weired and twisted person in which he has his own uniqe creative mind to proforme. i think he should have expressed him-self in one of his own concerts but as he was on american idol hes a huge risk taker and thats all he did was took a risk and as simon cowll said they will either love it or they will hate it. normaly they had been liking his risk taking but this one he got shot down for it. and i got his cd for christmas and i love every song and thats all that matters. the music. i love adam lambert………….and always will be a true fan……..

What is wrong with all of you. Still talking about this? Who cares….I think the only people who made a big deal are americans, cause there still in the 19th century…Adam can sing better then anyone out there right now, and I would argue ever. So he was “Playing around” with other guys, have you actually listened to the song? Hes not singing a ballad, hes sining a hot, sexy, errotic song, he got into the music. Personaly as a straight women I couldnt have been happier that I was able to rewind it. I watched it over and over. It was hot, he did what I wanted him to do. And all you who are “Disapointed” in him, who are you to say that after one preformance? I loved it, I love him I think he is beyond sexy, and has a Jim Morrison quality about him. He is gonna go far and youu know why, cause hes always gonna be in youur face, and he has the voice to back it up. You all should be dissapointed in yourselves. Leave Adam alone.
