I read your list of the Billboard 100 top all-time artists of all time, while I agree with your decision to put the Beatles on top as far as bands are concerned, and they are my most favorite band in the world, where are the Eagles and ”Heart” Elvis Presley SHOULD HAVE BEEN #1!!!!!!!!! if it had not been for him the Beatles never would have existed. and Linda Ronstadt at #69?????? give me a break, please!!!!! she should have been in the TOP 10!!!!! this lovely, talented lady has sold more than 50 M records, and has won 11 Grammys, she deserves better than that. ”Heart” has been around for a long time and just released their 24th album, and the Eagles had two albums ”Hotel California” and ”Greatest Hits” that went like hotcakes and they got back together on the account of a demand on their music from fans, and at a live concert in Melbourne, the audience in attendance represented 3 generations of fans, come on Billboard, you can do better than that!!!!!! One more thing…. where is Pat Benatar? 4-time Grammy winner, sold more than her share of records, COME ON B-BOARD!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Lynette says:

Once again…these lists are mere opinios…unless they are going by sales ONLY!!! I guess it’s true when they say money makes the world go round….NOT!!!

  4. nicoleee says:

i also dont think this list is like perfect (especially towards the top 10 like wth?!?) but this list is 10000000 times better than vh1s 100 greatest artists of all time. this list is probably the most accurate youll find though, cuz everyone has diff. opinions
oh nd btw connie francis does deserve to be that high up, maybe higher (she wasnt even on vh1s list), because she was and still is one of the most succsseful female artists of all time.

  5. mistertoyster says:

    where’s eminem

  6. Roger Turner says:

What criteria is this list based on?.It would be interesting for a list going way back[1950’s>] with the TOP 100 entries[ie How many times an artist has entered the Top 100]Connie Francis is with 56 entries.Surely this list should HAVE TOP ELVIS PRESLEY as he is the KING[and WILL ALWAYS BE!!!!!].The Beatles scored in the US not very big as is there record in UK.
Connie Francis has sold 500 million worldwide.Has THE RECORD of singing in 15 languages..I think Nana Mouskouri comes 2nd.

  7. Sal says:

I would have thought Connie Francis to be higher. It all depends upon the criterion, i guess. On Billboard’s other lists, she is # 3 among the females.

  8. venkatesh says:

oh god wats dis!!!!MICHAEL JACKSON is at 8!
    the order shud b 1.beatles
    2.michael jackson

  9. Jake:@ says:

is led zeppelin actually not on this list? haha and paula abdul is on there, and ive never heard of half the random queers on this list. is this list just against rock and roll?? and janet jackson in at least 100 times worse than michael jackson. van halen? most #1 hits ever! bob seger should not be below 20. there is much too much wrong with this list im not getting into this.. wtf.

  10. eka says:

come on….!!!! where is christina aguilera????….beyonce????….. gggrrrrrrr….n why celine dion, aretha, mariah is under madonna????….oh plisssss i dont like her voice….

  11. Marc says:

Why is living legedn Aretha on no 19…and janet whom i love,to be ahead marvin gaye or Whitney..pleaese..

  12. Sarah says:

Um this list should of had Michael Jackson at the top.
Even though Janet Jackson is cool no way she made a bigger impact then her brother The King of pop.

  13. markus says:

i love MADONNA but the order shouldve been

    1. Michael Jackson
    2. The Beatles
    3. Elvis Presley
    4. Madonna

coz MJ has amassed huge singles sales despite only a few releases. combine it MJ’s Jackson 5 hits, he’s totally the KING of Singles.

Well Royalty reigns in the TOP spots

    King of Rock and Roll
    King of Pop
    Queen of Pop
    The Fab Four
    The Soul King
    Queen of Dance

    and the others…
    King of Queers
    Queen of Breakdowns
    Queen of Crack
